Straight answers, no jargon.
The questions business owners ask us most, answered plainly, and a phone number if yours isn't here.
Assessments and first steps
A cybersecurity risk assessment can cost nothing to start: FusionRed's Rapid Risk Assessment is free and gives you a fast snapshot of your risks. A thorough documented review, our Fortify Assess engagement, is priced on the size and scope of your business, and we confirm a fixed figure with you before any work begins.
The free Rapid Risk Assessment is a 3-minute self-assessment that shows you roughly where you stand. Fortify Assess is the in-depth version: a full vulnerability report, a documented picture of your exposure, and an estimate of what a breach would cost your business.
No. Fortify Assess is a fee-based, in-depth cybersecurity review. FusionRed's free entry point is the Rapid Risk Assessment, a 3-minute self-assessment that gives you an instant risk score. Fortify Assess is the documented review that follows when you need real depth.
No. Many businesses come straight to Fortify Assess, particularly when a board, an insurer or a contract is asking for documentation. If you are not sure which you need, book a consultation and we will point you to the right one.
You receive a prioritised roadmap you can act on with any provider, not just with us. Many clients ask FusionRed to fix what we found, usually through the Fortify360 programme, but there is no obligation to.
Fortify360 and FusionStrategy
Fortify360 is FusionRed's complete managed IT and cybersecurity programme for Australian businesses. It combines 24/7 protection, day-to-day IT support and strategic technology advice in one fixed monthly fee, aligned to the Australian Essential Eight framework. It starts with a clear picture of your risks, then we build and run a programme around your business.
Fortify360 is charged as a single fixed monthly fee covering managed IT, cybersecurity and advisory together. What you pay depends on your team size, the systems you run and the level of protection you need. Contact FusionRed and we will confirm an exact figure for your business before you commit to anything.
No. You can start with any single service on its own. When you are ready they come together under your Fortify360 programme, so everything sits with one local team instead of being managed in pieces.
No. FusionStrategy works whether or not FusionRed manages your day-to-day IT. Plenty of clients keep their existing provider and use us purely for technology planning and advisory.
Fortify360 protects and runs your IT, cybersecurity, support, backup. FusionStrategy improves it, roadmaps, Microsoft 365, AI, and process improvement. They're built to work together, but you can take either on its own.
With a conversation. Book a strategy session and we'll talk about your goals, your current setup, and what's prompting the change. No pressure, no jargon.
Support, cybersecurity and cost
A specialist team runs it instead of you hiring one. We monitor your systems, deal with what turns up, and keep your defences current for a fixed monthly fee. For a business of 10 to 200 people, that's how you get someone watching at 3am without putting a security specialist on payroll.
Eight controls the Australian Cyber Security Centre recommends against the most common attacks: patching, multi-factor authentication, restricting admin rights, testing your backups, and four more. It's scored in maturity levels, so “we do the Essential Eight” isn't a yes or no answer. We can show you which level you're actually at.
Managed IT support in Australia is usually priced per user or per device, per month, as a fixed fee rather than hourly callouts. What you pay depends on your team size, the systems you run and the level of cybersecurity you need. FusionRed confirms a fixed monthly price for your business after a short assessment, so there are no surprise invoices.
Yes. FusionRed is remote-first for speed, with onsite support available across Penrith, Parramatta, Blacktown and the wider Western Sydney region whenever a problem genuinely needs someone in the room.
Essential Eight and your obligations
The Essential Eight is a set of eight security controls recommended by the Australian Cyber Security Centre to stop the most common cyber attacks. It is not mandatory for every Australian business, but more clients, insurers and government contracts now expect it. FusionRed can show you where you currently stand against it.
Yes. Small businesses are increasingly asked to prove their cybersecurity by the larger clients, insurers and government bodies they work with. Compliance is less about regulation for most Australian SMBs and more about being able to answer the question when a contract depends on it.
Data protection and the cloud
Recovery speed is set by the targets we agree with you up front: how fast you need to be trading again, and how much data you can afford to lose. FusionRed designs the plan around those two numbers and tests it regularly, so the answer is known before you ever need it.
Properly isolated backups do protect a business from ransomware, because you can restore your systems and keep trading without paying anyone. FusionRed keeps backups encrypted and separated from your live environment, which is what stops ransomware reaching them too.
Yes. Most businesses use a fraction of the Microsoft 365 licence they already pay for. FusionRed configures and optimises Microsoft 365 and trains your team, so you get the value you are already buying rather than paying for features nobody opens.
Cloud services are secure when they are configured and monitored properly, and exposed when they are left on default settings. FusionRed hardens your configuration and watches it continuously, rather than assuming the defaults are safe.
Connectivity, phones and mobile
VoIP stands for Voice over Internet Protocol: business phone calls carried over your internet connection instead of a traditional phone line. It means your team can take calls on a desk phone, a laptop or a mobile using the same business number.
Yes, and it is usually why businesses move both to FusionRed. When one provider runs your internet and your phones, a dropped call is not two suppliers pointing at each other, and there is one number to ring when something stops working.
No. FusionRed's business mobile plans are month to month, so you can scale up or down as your team changes without being held to a multi-year term.
Yes. Your existing business mobile numbers port across, so nothing changes for your clients and nothing needs reprinting.
