A full-day, hands-on AI workshop for business leaders, run with Pivot Advisory Group and supported by Pax8 and the Penrith Chamber of Commerce. The premise was simple: most leaders know AI matters, but everything they read about it is either too technical, too risky-sounding, or too abstract to act on.

Live demonstrations of Microsoft Copilot on real business tasks, then guided exercises where attendees mapped AI against their own People, Process, Systems and Data. Laptops open, spreadsheets up, people arguing about which of their processes was actually the bottleneck. By the afternoon the room had moved from "what is this" to "where do we start on Monday".

Because AI adoption in a small business fails for operational reasons, not technical ones. Someone has to sit with a leadership team and work through governance, security and sequencing. That is the work we do, so we ran the day.

Attendees worked through the PPSD framework, People, Process, Systems, Data, against their own business. We used a town-planning analogy: most businesses grow like an unplanned suburb, where every new tool and process gets added wherever there is room, and nothing connects. The exercises made people write down where their own roads did not meet.

Most of the IT problems we get called into are not IT problems. They are a process that was never designed, a system nobody owns, or data three people report differently. We would rather help a business see that on a whiteboard than discover it during an incident.

A documented strategy roadmap, a clear list of the misalignments draining time and budget, and a way to talk about technology spend as investment instead of overhead.

The conversation kept landing on the same thing. Everyone's team is using AI. Nobody's business is measurably faster. Different tools, different outputs, different standards, and more back-and-forth than before. We worked through why that happens: AI does not fix a broken workflow, it speeds it up.

Because the gap between "we're using AI" and "AI is making us more productive" is an operations problem, and it is one we get asked about constantly. A small room is the right size for that conversation.

Clients, partners and the team together in one room. The new brand went up on the wall, and the rest of the night was the part that matters: conversations with the people we work for.

Superior IT Technologies described the business we started as, a company that fixed computers well. It stopped describing the one we had become. Security and IT support had long since stopped being two jobs, and the name still treated them as one thing bolted to another. FusionRed says what we actually do now: the two held together, run as a single programme, for businesses that cannot afford to be down.

Nothing about who answers the phone. The same people, the same numbers, a name that finally matched the work.

A long-table lunch with Western Sydney business leaders on how fast expectations of technology had shifted. Invitation only, and deliberately kept small enough that everyone speaks.

The pressure was coming from outside. Clients asking questions about security that nobody asked three years earlier, insurers wanting evidence rather than assurances, and staff expecting to work the way they do at home. Most people at the table had bought technology to solve each of those as it arrived, and were now running more systems than anyone could name. The useful part of the afternoon was hearing how differently people had handled the same pressure.

Executives will say things across a table that they will not say in a webinar chat box. Those conversations tell us what businesses in Western Sydney are actually worried about, which is more useful than any survey.

The Friends of NADO Charity Golf Day at Riverside Oaks, run by the Nepean Area Disabilities Organisation. Breakfast, a shotgun start, eighteen holes of Ambrose, then lunch and the presentation.

Teams out on the course from 8am, a drinks station doing steady business, and by 1pm everyone back in the function room for lunch, the raffle and the auction. Lunch was on us.

NADO is a community-based charity supporting people with disability and their families across Western Sydney and the Blue Mountains. Sponsorship and fundraising pay for services and transport that people rely on. We are part of this community, so we turned up and covered lunch. That is the whole reason.

Jamm & Slamm, the corporate wheelchair basketball day run by Macarthur Disability Services at the Minto Indoor Sports Centre. Business teams of six to eight, on court, in chairs, most of them for the first time.

Pool matches of twelve minutes with three-minute breaks, then quarter-finals, semis and a grand final. Nobody needs to have played before. The referees run through the rules, everyone gets it wrong for the first few minutes, and then it turns competitive quickly.

Macarthur Disability Services supports people living with disability and mental illness across South Western Sydney and the Southern Highlands. The money raised buys equipment that helps people build everyday skills and move towards employment. It is run by people we share a region with, so we turned up.
